Beginner sessions
From September 2026, Sunday beginner sessions are back at the Walnuts Leisure Centre.
We have a General Skate & Games session each week which is open for all to enjoy.
Our Merits 1-5 sessions teach the basic skills of roller skating to skaters under 18. From simply skating forwards and stopping, to more advaced skills as you progress through the Merits.
All of our sessions require you to bring your own roller skates. We specialise in quad roller skating so we advise using these - especially to progress through the Merits.
All children must have a parent/carer present for the duration of the sessions they attend.

Do you have the right equipment?
Meridian have entered a partnership with a company to supply our skaters with the correct high quality skates using top world class brands such as Roll-Line, Edea, Risport and Komplex to make the step forward towards competitive skating. These skates are fully endorsed by the coaches at the club and really make a difference in your skating ability.
This is a hire scheme per month.
